Language Of Swans Trio
Definitely a different sound , Joe's New York trio features bassist Reuben Radding and drummer Todd Capp. The music is free and elegant at the same time. The trio is patterned on the original Paul Motian Trio, which included bassist David Izenzon and saxophonist Charles Brackeen. Swans plays evolving music by Motian, Bill Dixon, Annette Peacock, Steve Lacy as well as Joe's compositions, among others. Their debut disc "Swansongs" will be released in 2011 on Mode Avant Records.
Sorgen/Giardullo Fire Music
Drummer Harvey Sorgen and Joe have been playing together for over 30 years. Harvey is known for his 13 years with the legendary Hot Tuna and his work with Ahmad Jamal, Anthony Braxton, Dewey Redman, Jack DeJohnette, Paul Simon and many more. G2 Music
Joe's compositional work comes out of modern complexity studies, self organizing systems, emergent behavior research and new science. The music is rich and open, omniharmonic and omnivalent. Downbeat Magazine called it the most "intensely democratic music" it had ever heard and gave it 4 stars. The latest disc is RED MOROCCO, on Rogue Art Records, Paris. There's a new recording being prepared for release, featuring an orchestra of strings, brass, percussion, electronics and winds.
